Trudi Van Dyke

Trudi Van Dyke has worked with the New Image Artists for over 15 years. As curator she continues to cultivate opportunities for exhibitions, develops application materials and essays to accompany catalogs and press materials. In addition, she oversees the coordination of booked exhibitions with gallery sites.

Additional Professional Experience

Director, Torpedo Factory Art Center,  Alexandria, VA. 2004-2006
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of an internationally renowned art center which hosts 800,000 visitors per year.  It consists of 85 individual artist studios, 5 galleries, 2 workshops, The Art League School and the City of Alexandria Archaeology Museum. Facilitated and hosted the first national conference on how to start an art center.

Director and curator, Ellipse Arts Center, Arlington County Cultural Affairs Division, Arlington, VA.  1996-2004
Responsible for the development and coordination of all phases of six exhibitions per year at the Ellipse Arts Center (a 5,000 square foot public visual arts gallery) from inception to reception, including budgetary, educational and programming components.   Successfully doubled attendance with creative programming that emphasized fine craft through collaborations with the Kennedy Center and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum
