My preferred method of working is to create a fully inlaid surface with no additional applied fabric. Each quilt is a puzzle that I must solve. I work without patterns or sketches auditioning color and texture until they are happy together. I like hand quilting with heavy thread and big stitches and the way the pulling thread changes the surface of the quilt. I use both machine and hand work. The majority of my work uses commercially produced fabric. I collect hand dyed and painted fabrics to incorporate.
