My work is multi-faceted in its presentation and serves as a polemic device for challenging conventional understandings of tradition and innovation. The inexorably structural pieces ironically rebel against the rigid notion of what a quilt is and seek to broaden preconceptions which root us in one spot. I am fascinated by the process of assembling small, individually insignificant units together to create a collective, overpowering whole. The individual’s relationship to and place in time frequently finds voice in my work.
